  • Boost Organic Traffic Of Your SaaS Website By 140% With These Tips

Over the past decade, there has been a major shift in the way businesses operate. In the past, businesses would purchase software programs that they would then need to install and maintain on their own computers.

However, today, more and more businesses are opting for Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions. With SaaS, businesses can access software programs remotely, through the internet. This means that there is no need to install or update software programs on individual computers. Furthermore, SaaS solutions are often more affordable than traditional software programs, making them a popular choice for small businesses. As the demand for SaaS solutions continues to grow, it is clear that this is one business trend that is here to stay.

So, if you’re running a SaaS business, then you know that organic traffic is key to your success. You may have tried a few things to increase your website’s visibility in search engines, but haven’t seen the results you were hoping for.

There could be because of many reasons, maybe your content was not good enough, you were not using the right keywords or the link-building tactics you used were not effective.

So, to help you out, here are some tips that will definitely boost the organic traffic of your SaaS website by 140%.

Table of Contents

  • 1. Target Long-Tail Keywords
  • 2. Publish More Quality Content
  • 3. Improve Website User Experience
    • Optimizing Your SaaS Website’s Loading Speed
    • Making Your SaaS Website More Mobile-Friendly
  • Improving Your SaaS Website’s Navigation
  • Creating A More Interactive UI
  • 4. Build High-Quality Backlinks
  • What To Avoid While Building Backlinks For Your SaaS?
    • Conclusion

1. Target Long-Tail Keywords

“If you want to increase your SaaS website’s organic traffic, then you need to start targeting long-tail keywords.” – Vibhu Dhariwal, Director of Marketing, Digital Gratified, a SaaS Digital Marketing Agency

Long-tail keywords are simply keywords that are more specific and usually longer than the average keyword. Though such keywords have low search volume, however, it is easier to rank on them since there is less competition.

For example, if you sell a SaaS product that helps businesses track their finances, then a long tail keyword could be “best SaaS finance tracking software for small businesses.”

To find long-tail keywords, you can use Google’s Keyword Planner or any other keyword research tool. However, if you want to find out what everyone is searching for right now, you can use Google Trends API. You’ll see a list of related long-tail keywords as well as how popular they are.

To apply the long-tail keywords strategy, you don’t need to completely change your approach. You can just switch to the most relevant LSI keyword of whichever parent keyword you were targeting.

For example, if your keyword was “hosting provider”, you can simply take “domain shared hosting provider” as your new target.

2. Publish More Quality Content

When I say “publish more quality content”, then it means that content has to be of really really high quality. For this, you will need to improvise your content writing team, and even have more freelance writers or hire full-time expert SaaS content writers.

Once you have a good team, the next thing is to come up with an editorial calendar. This will help you plan and publish your content on a regular basis. Besides that, make sure to target those long-tail keywords we talked about earlier. If you are not using keywords properly in your content, then all the efforts on creating content would go in vain.

Also, don’t forget to optimize your title and meta tags for better SEO. And if you’re not sure what kind of content to publish, then you can take a look at your competitor’s blog and see what topics they’re writing about.

3. Improve Website User Experience

User experience is one of the most important ranking factors for Google.

A good user experience means that your website visitors have a positive experience when they visit your website. This includes factors such as easy navigation, fast loading speed, and interactive UI.

You can improve your website’s user experience by doing a few things such as:

– Optimizing your SaaS website’s loading speed

– Making your SaaS website more mobile-friendly

– Improving your SaaS website’s navigation

– Creating a more interactive UI

Optimizing Your SaaS Website’s Loading Speed

The loading speed of the domain plays a very important role in its user experience. If your website takes more than a few seconds to load, then chances are that your website visitors will leave without taking any action.

There are many ways to improve loading speed, such as:

– Use a content delivery network (CDN)

– Optimize images

– Minimize JavaScript and CSS code

– Use browser caching

Making Your SaaS Website More Mobile-Friendly

Since most people now use their smartphones to browse the internet, making your SaaS website more mobile-friendly is important.

There are many ways to make a SaaS website more mobile-friendly, such as:

– Use a responsive design

– Use larger font sizes

– Use less complex designs

Improving Your SaaS Website’s Navigation

Your SaaS website’s navigation should be easy and simple. All the important pages of your website should be easily accessible from the homepage.

There are many ways to improve website navigation, such as:

– Use clear and descriptive titles

– Use easy-to-find links

– Use drop-down menus

Creating A More Interactive UI

The SaaS website’s UI should be interactive and engaging. This will help keep your website visitors engaged and encourage them to take action. Also, a good UI will help improve your SaaS website’s conversion rate.

There are many ways to create a more interactive UI, such as:

– Use engaging visuals

– Use animated elements

– Use hover effects

4. Build High-Quality Backlinks

One of the most effective ways to improve your SaaS website’s SEO is to build high-quality backlinks. Backlinks are incoming links to a website. They are also sometimes called “inbound links” or “incoming links”.

A SaaS website with a lot of high-quality backlinks will rank higher in the search engine results pages (SERPs). This is because Google and other search engines view backlinks as a vote of confidence. The more backlinks a SaaS website has, the more popular it must be, and thus, the higher it will rank in the SERPs.

And when we talk about high-quality backlinks, then we mean that:

  • The backlink must come from a SaaS website that is relevant to yours
  • The backlink must come from a SaaS website with a high domain authority
  • The backlink must be a do-follow link
  • The backlink must be on the anchor relevant to your linking URL
  • The backlink must be contextually relevant

Though link building can be costly, however, with a good link-building strategy, the investment can be worthy.

What To Avoid While Building Backlinks For Your SaaS?

  • Avoid using link-building services that use black hat techniques, such as link farms, private blog networks (PBNs), and link wheels.
  • Avoid linking to low-quality websites, such as directories, article directories, forums, and blog comments.
  • Avoid using anchor text that is not relevant to your linking URL. For example, if you are linking to your SaaS website’s homepage, then the anchor text should be your brand name or something that is highly relevant to your product.
  • Avoid adding too many links in a single article or blog post. Google may view this as link spamming, and penalize your SaaS website.

Conclusion

SaaS websites can use many different strategies to improve their organic traffic. Some of these strategies include optimizing the website’s loading speed, making the website more mobile-friendly, improving website navigation, creating a more interactive UI, and building high-quality backlinks.

However, it is important to avoid using black hat techniques or linking to low-quality websites when building backlinks for your SaaS website. All of these strategies if implemented properly can help improve your SaaS website’s traffic by 140%.
