There are various standard practices to build the links, but you need to be a bit creative to build more quality links. 

Here are some uncommon link-building techniques that you can use to create links in 2022 and beyond.

1. Geo-Targeted Link Building

You must have heard about geo-targeted advertising, but you can also target your link building to a geographical area. When you are a local business or target a specific area or country, links from your nearby relevant sites can make huge sense and aid your site’s authority significantly. You must be wondering how you can find the site from your region. Well! Here is an example.

You are a business that deals with home renovation in Toronto, and you need Toronto sites that post content about home renovation. So, just type in the query “home renovation” + inurl:toronto + inurl:blog. You get the approx 800 results with this. 

With different variations of your niche keywords, you can drill down more sites that you can reach out to get your content published. It’s an effective way of finding new prospects. Let’s take one more example; you need sites that post about social media and are from Canada. Search “Social media” + inurl:.ca/blog

2. Make Graphics for Top-Ranking Blogs

This technique is about making infographics or general graphics for some popular blogs that are ranking in the search. Now, you can take those blogs as references and create an amazing infographic with valuable information and great representation. Now, create a summary of that blog and post it on Quora as the answer to the particular question. At the end of your answer, link your blog if anyone needs more information. This way, you can attract traffic to your blog, and people will link to you if they find your content worthy. Your content’s quality matters a lot, so make sure you make it link-worthy. 

6. Bonus Technique: HARO

Well! You must know about it, but few people use this. HARO needs consistency because you have to pitch every day, and there is no certainty of the link generation. However, if you can include it in your daily routine, and manage to send some really good pitches, then you can get links from big publications. Without HARO, it’s nearly impossible to get yourself on those publications unless you have a good connection or reputation in the market. HARO has reporters that need help with their content, and you can help them out on a relevant topic that aligns with your expertise. HARO sends your queries from reports thrice a day, and you can choose a particular category to get relevant queries only.

These are some highly effective but uncommon link-building strategies. You might not find these techniques anywhere. But most link building agencies use the same techniques to get quality links.
